West-facing, gently sloping launch (~270 deg) adjacent to the LZ, administered by Wings of Rogallo (USHPA chapter), Milpitas CA. Ideal cycle: light S in the morning, strengthening and clocking around to W/WNW by early afternoon, so SW through W is the prime working arc; pure S and NW are marginal/cross. Calibrated wind socks at the 300-ft launch inflate FULLY at 15 mph, which the club treats as the practical upper reference; ideal flying is in lighter ~5-12 mph cycles. HAZARD: rotor behind the trees when wind is S-SE. Afternoon NW winds (often by ~11am in summer) increase and frequently make the site unsafe, so morning-to-early-afternoon is best. Mid-level training/intermediate launch; Wings of Rogallo membership, site intro/sign-off, and an automatic phone-in weather station (408-946-9516 at the 1750-ft launch) support condition checks. Speed numbers (ideal range, max gust) are inferred from the 15 mph sock calibration and general site practice; only the 15 mph sock-full figure and direction behavior are explicitly documented.
