Wings of Rogallo (USHPA NorCal chapter) site guide lists launch wind direction as NW-SW; core ideal arc is SW through W (~225-290 deg), overlapping the paraglidingEarth S/SW/W hint. Marginal extends to S (180) and NW (315). South wind produces rotor behind trees in the LZ and is more cross/marginal. Speeds: paraglider ideal ~8 mph, max 20 mph (advanced pilots only); hang glider ideal ~15 mph, max 25 mph. Ideal PG-oriented range ~6-15 mph; gust cap kept near base max (no explicit gust spread published). Typical day: light/variable AM, thermic mid-day, stable WSW-W sea breeze by mid-to-late afternoon giving ridge + thermal lift -- best window late afternoon. Hazards: summer inversion causes turbulence at top of boundary layer; LZ is a thermal trigger with common dust devils along the trail; heavy general aviation/helicopter traffic (see-and-avoid, FAR 103, fly with airspace-aware instrument); max altitude 6000 ft, nearby airways floors at 4000/8000 ft. Access: ~45 min to 1.5 hr hike (or restrictive keyholder drive-up); small often-full Stanford Ave parking; max 45 gliders on site. Rating: PG P4 or P3+extra, HG H4 or H3+extra; must be Wings of Rogallo + USHPA member.
