Privacy Policy

Wonderwind ("we") makes a free-flight conditions app and website (wonderwind.app). This policy explains what we collect and how to remove it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service, and we do not sell your data.

What we collect

• Account info — your email address and an optional display name. Your password is stored only as a salted hash (we can never read it).
• Your saved data — the sites you favorite, the reviews you post (which are public, and can be posted anonymously), and any flyability alerts you configure.
• Optional feedback — if you send a correction or feedback, the message and any reply email you provide, plus your IP address for spam prevention.
• Location — if you grant permission, your device location is used on your device to find sites near you. It is not sent to or stored on our servers.

How we use it

To sign you in, show your saved sites and alerts, display reviews, and answer feedback. Forecasts are produced by sending a flying site's coordinates (not your identity) to public weather services (Open-Meteo, the US National Weather Service, and aviationweather.gov). Maps are shown using Apple Maps (iOS) or Google Maps (Android/web).

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, we don't run third-party ad tracking, and the app does not require an account to browse forecasts.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (favorites, reviews, alerts) at any time:

• In the app: Profile → Delete account.
• Or email support@wonderwind.app and we will delete it for you.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Data retention

We keep your account data until you delete it. Public reviews you posted may remain after deletion with no name attached.

Children

Wonderwind is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and post the new version here.
