Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.

South-facing escarpment on the Volcanic Tablelands just north of Bishop in the northern Owens Valley. The small bluff ridge-soars best in a straight, light south wind; SE and SW work but go increasingly cross. This is big-air Owens Valley country - keep the wind light, expect strong thermals and rotor off the Sierra flow, and fly the calmer morning or evening cycles in spring or fall rather than mid-summer. Not an established named launch; check with Bishop-area pilots before flying.
