SE-facing launch on Massanutten Ridge near Luray, on national forest land, managed by CHGPA. Flies on an ESE-to-SSE wind; a W/NW/N wind is on the back side — rotor, not flyable. Ridge-and-thermal site that can turn on mid-morning and build through the afternoon; pilots soar the spine or push XC over the back toward West Virginia. Intermediate site — CHGPA expects a P2 with mountain/RLF signoff plus a site briefing.

Edith's Gap is a paragliding and hang gliding site in Virginia. The launch faces southeast at 1,788 feet and works best in ESE to SSE wind of about 8 to 15 mph. There are 3 more Wonderwind sites within 50 miles, and the closest is Woodstock, 11 miles away. Read the site guide on fs.usda.gov for rules and access before you fly.
