Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Coastal cliff soaring in Sonoma Coast State Park, about 1 mile south of Jenner. Launch is the Arch View cliff next to the Sundowner Lookout parking lot, ~150 ft above the beach. Wings of Rogallo guide: winds SW-NW, PG 0-18 mph (ideal 12), HG 0-25 mph (ideal 15). The guide gives no gust limit, so the gust ceiling matches Mussel Rock. It can blow out fast, so don't get stuck at Peaked Hill at the south end as the wind builds, stay out of the Goat Rock rotor downwind to the south, and never land in or near the water (steep beach, powerful surf and undertow; the beach landing can be crosswind). Usually flyable January through May, and many summer evenings work for paragliders. P3/H3, or P2/H2 with extra requirements.
