Old Settlers Park (Round Rock, TX) is a flat-field POWERED PARAGLIDING (PPG/paramotor) site, NOT a ridge or thermal free-flight launch. Local PPG pilots gather most weekend mornings and evenings at the NW corner large field, just north/behind the Rock'N River water park, or the undeveloped easternmost field. Being a flat field, it is effectively OMNIDIRECTIONAL: pilots foot-launch into whatever direction the wind is coming from, so all 8 octants (N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W,NW) work, matching the orientation hint. Wind speed, not direction, is the limiting factor. Ideal conditions are calm to light winds (roughly 0-8 mph); paramotors get difficult above ~10-12 mph and gusty/thermic air is dangerous. Fly early morning or late evening when thermal heating is minimal and air is smooth; midday thermals cause turbulence and collapses. Hazards: this is an active 645-acre public city park (ballfields, water park, trails, crowds) so launch only from the designated open fields away from people, and watch for low-level mechanical turbulence/rotor off treelines and structures. No ridge lift available (elevation ~702 ft MSL flat terrain) - unpowered free flight is not practical here; this is a motor-launch field. Access is informal via the public park. No USHPA chapter site guide or paraglidingearth entry with explicit numeric wind window was found; speed ranges are inferred from standard PPG flat-field practice.
