Flat Gulf Coast beach near Surfside/Freeport, TX, not a ridge/dune soaring site. Listed by TXWingNuts (txwingnuts.com) as one of their club PPG (powered paragliding) beaches along with Texas City Levee, East Beach and Quintana. No USHPA/club free-flight site guide with explicit numbers was found, so the wind window is inferred from the paraglidingEarth orientation hint (E,SE,S,SW = onshore off the Gulf) plus general coastal-soaring knowledge. Shoreline here runs roughly NE-SW and faces SE, so straight-onshore flow (~SE, 110-170 deg) is best; the arc widens to E and SW where the wind becomes more cross/parallel to the beach (marginal). Because the terrain is essentially flat (0 ft MSL), there is little to no dynamic lift band for unpowered gliders -- this is realistically a PPG / training / kiting beach rather than an unpowered ridge-soaring launch. Winds off the water are smooth and laminar. Hazards: no relief means unpowered pilots cannot sustain flight; soft sand, occasional beach traffic/vehicles, and sea-breeze convergence. Offshore (N/NW/NE) flow is unflyable. Best in a steady sea breeze on a sunny afternoon. Open public beach access; no special rating/restriction beyond standard USHPA/club practice. Speeds given are sensible PPG/kiting ranges -- treat as low-confidence estimates, not a published guide.
