Ceiling · Paragliding

Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.

A small ridge in the bend of the Paint Creek Valley near Chillicothe — the only foot-launch site the Ohio Flyers maintain. It soars on SW wind around 15 mph; winds backing more southerly channel up the valley and cross on launch, so it gets sketchy below SW, and it can overpower in strong wind given the small ridge. Access is restricted: private land with a locked gate, so arrange permission through an Ohio Flyers member and expect to be accompanied by one.
