A historic interior-Alaska ridge-soaring site on an open alpine ridge (~3,500 ft) by the Eagle Summit pass on the Steese Highway, about 2.5 hours NE of Fairbanks. The ridge faces north toward the Yukon Flats, so a N-through-NW flow soars it best. The pass sits in a convergence zone between two valleys and can produce ferocious, multi-day winds; blow-out and leeside rotor are the main dangers, and wave has been recorded here. Remote with no rescue — experienced mountain/XC pilots only. Long summer daylight gives extended evening flying.
