Lookout Mountain Flight Park's 65 ft student hill in the valley at the base of Cloudland Canyon. Launches in every direction except west; instructors move students around the hill as the wind swirls off the surrounding ridges. First-day students stay down above 5-6 mph; 6-7 mph (streamers flying straight back) is the upper limit. Up to 45 deg of crosswind is OK in 0-5 mph, narrowing to 15-20 deg at 6-7 mph. Lessons run from 7:30 AM and usually wrap by 11 AM on sunny days before thermals; evenings before sunset also work. Not a soaring site. Pin is the park's 'LMFP Training Hills' map pin (shared with the Big Hill).
