Petersburg Pass is a Taconic-ridge site on NY Route 2 near the NY/MA border, a well-known regional ridge-soaring spot (the pass is around 2,200 ft with the crest above 2,600). The N-S ridge works best on winds from the western half of the compass, roughly WNW-NW, at about 8-15 mph; treat ~20 mph as the ceiling. NW flow here is often post-frontal, gusty, and rotor-prone in the lee of higher terrain, so it's best in stable morning air. No current club site guide with hard numbers was found, so verify rating, access, and the exact launch with local Capital-region pilots before flying.
