Alpine ridge launch near Nike Site Summit on Mt. Gordon Lyon in Arctic Valley, on the eastern edge of Anchorage, flown by the Arctic Air Walkers. Works best in W-to-NW winds around 7-12 mph with light gusts; watch for building afternoon thermals, valley flow, and lee rotor if the wind backs to the S/SE. Access is sensitive - the summit sits on JBER military land with restricted public access, so confirm legal launch and landing with the Arctic Air Walkers first. P2+ pilots comfortable in alpine air; best in stable mornings or evening glass-off.
