Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Undeveloped RMHPA backcountry site best flown as evening lakeside soaring over Lake Dillon. Wind works from the W (roughly WSW-WNW), ideal around 8 mph; avoid a SW headwind since you need a ~10:1 glide to reach the LZ. Launch is snaggy and often crosswind - kiting skill needed, and expect rotor behind Sapphire Point plus lingering thermals. Fire and beetle-kill damage means a faint trail, so walk the launch first. P3 minimum.
