GrayBird Airsports is a FLATLAND TOW operation (aerotow + scooter/payout tow) at Dunnellon Airport, FL (~52 ft MSL), not a ridge/soaring launch. Because launching is by tow, there is no fixed launch orientation — the tow runway is aligned into whatever direction the wind is coming from, so it is effectively OMNIDIRECTIONAL (0-359). This matches the paraglidingEarth hint listing all 8 octants. The limiting factors are wind STRENGTH, GUSTINESS, and crosswind on the tow line, not direction. Best conditions: light-to-moderate steady wind 3-12 mph straight down the tow line; light morning or evening air is ideal in Florida to avoid strong midday thermals/turbulence. Hazards: thermic turbulence and gusty/shifty wind common on hot Florida afternoons (rough tows, lockout risk); avoid strong crosswind, gust spread over ~5 mph, or sustained wind above ~15 mph. No terrain rotor (flat airport). Access: instruction/tow operation run by Gregg McNamee with instructor Ray Leonard; towing included for all levels, training to P2; this is a school/membership operation, not an open public flying site (call ahead).
