Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
East-facing thermal launch in the Tushar Mountains, managed by CUASA (also called Gold Gulch). Works on an east wind (ideal 80-105); PG ideal ~6 mph, HG up to ~20. This is a leeside site under the predominant west flow aloft — early-morning east thermals feel safe, but once peak heating mixes the westerlies down it turns violently rotor-y, so fly the early window (turns on around 9am) and land before midday. Watch bushes on the south side of launch. H3/P3 with USHPA + CUASA membership; check the local forecast/Telegram first.
