Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
True 360-degree drive-up launch at ~11,700 ft with four takeoffs (N, E, S, SW) per CUASA, so something usually works. Primarily a morning site — the high east-facing slopes fire early and get turbulent fast; don't launch after noon once up-canyon winds build. Rapid cloud buildup means gust-front and hail danger. A 5.5 minimum glide ratio is required and mini-wings aren't recommended. A locked gate guards the last mile or two of the 4WD road — get a key from a local CUASA officer or park and hike from the gate. P3/H3 with USHPA + CUASA membership.
