Flat-land KITING / ground-handling park (not a slope/ridge launch), so it works in essentially any wind direction — the paraglidingEarth orientation hint lists all 8 octants, consistent with an open desert field. Best is a steady, laminar breeze of roughly 8-15 mph for kiting; up to ~18 mph base for advanced ground handlers, gusts above ~22 mph make it unworkable. For pilots who fly/XC from here, the Desert Skywalkers club notes a front side (faces Las Vegas, works in EAST winds) and a back side (works in SOUTH winds); this is one of the most productive XC launches in Southern Nevada (Nevada distance record ~62 mi reportedly started here). MAIN HAZARD: classic high-desert air — strong midday thermal cycles, gusty/turbulent wind, dust devils, and afternoon valley/canyon wind that can build quickly. Best wind for smooth kiting is early morning or evening when the air is more laminar; thermic midday is good for XC launches but rough for ground handling. Speed numbers are inferred from general ground-handling practice + desert conditions, not from an explicit published club number, hence medium confidence. Elevation ~2595 ft MSL. Check live wind (Windfinder "Practice Park / Las Vegas") before committing.
