Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
One-mile-long, ~300 ft flat-topped ridge facing SW across Jean Dry Lake Bed (Desert Skywalkers site, launch ~3,070 ft). Soars in a SW wind on the front, with a back launch for more southerly flow; W also works. Ideal 5–12 mph — it builds fast with height up the face, so watch for blowback over the broad top. Rotor is minimal. All levels, though mid-hill launches mean kiting/hiking; 4WD helps on the top road. Hazards: boulders below launch, soft sand, off-road traffic, and gunfire from a nearby range. Strong XC site, great for evening soaring.
