Sources emphasize LIGHT winds only - it is a slope/thermal launch, not a strong-wind ridge site, so speeds above are inferred (no explicit numbers published). Best in morning/midday thermal cycles before valley/afternoon overdevelopment; avoid strong or gusty conditions. Hazards: sparse landing options / low population density in front of launch, possible TFRs from nearby wildfire activity. Access: requires 4x4 with good clearance off Hwy 18 (2WD ~75% success but risks road damage and site closure). Rating: Intermediate (P3/H3) minimum.
