Callisto Launch is a paragliding takeoff on the Olympic Peninsula near Brinnon, on the foothills west of Hood Canal (47.6866, -122.963, ~2600 ft MSL; the paraglidingEarth/windfinder elevation field reads "802 ft" but that is a data artifact - the prompt's 2631 ft MSL is correct for the ridge). The launch faces the Hood Canal valley and works only on a southerly component. The only authoritative record found is a sparse paraglidingEarth entry ("initially imported from International Leonardo") that lists SE, S, SW as the suitable orientations and gives NO speed, gust, or hazard numbers; no local club / USHPA chapter site guide or pilot report with explicit figures was located. Direction arc is taken directly from that orientation data: ideal centered on S (SSE-SSW, ~135-225 deg), marginal/cross at the SE and SW edges (~112-247 deg); anything with N/E/W component is unfavorable and likely leeside. Speeds, gust ceiling, and hazards are INFERRED from general PNW foothill thermal/ridge-soaring norms, not from a source: treat ~5-14 mph as workable, ~18 mph as a sensible base ceiling for a paraglider on a foothill launch, and back off in gust spread above ~20 mph. Likely hazards for a leeward-of-Olympics, marine-influenced foothill site: thermal/valley-wind cycles building midday, possible convergence and overdevelopment in summer, rotor/leeside turbulence if wind backs to a non-southerly direction, and afternoon overdevelopment near the Olympic Mountains - verify locally before committing. Best window is typically a thermic mid-day to afternoon cycle in spring through fall. Access/rating unknown - confirm with the regional PNW paragliding community (Northwest Paragliding Club / Cascade Paragliding Club) before flying.
