Dog Mountain (CBCC site) near Morton/Glenoma, WA, on the east side of Riffe Lake — the most popular HG site in western WA, ridge-soarable 320+ days/yr. Launch faces W with a secondary N face, overlooking Riffe Lake (W) and Glenoma Valley (N). Riffe Lake has its own meteorology producing consistent W winds flowing straight into launch, so a W/WNW wind (270-300) is the bread-and-butter ideal; NW also works well, and the N face is usable on more northerly days. Best in afternoon thermic cycle (typical launch times ~14:30-17:45). Ideal cruising wind roughly 6-15 mph; usable to ~20 mph at the base, but it gets sporty above that. HAZARDS: launch is very restricted for paragliders — limited launch space, trees, abrupt grade changes, and rotor; P3 minimum with solid restricted-launch skills, NO PG tandems. Dirty air and rotor appear in the north LZ when wind is strong; one narrow, dangerous cliff-face curve on the access road. ACCESS: privately owned — pilots must be current USHPA and Cloudbase Country Club (CBCC) members, sign an annual waiver, and obtain a key for the locked gate at the bottom of the access road. Speed numbers are inferred (sources give a 0-20 mph band and 'ridge soaring' character rather than explicit min/max gust limits), hence medium confidence on the exact arc/speeds.
