"Fuzz" is a closed/sensitive secondary site on the Laguna escarpment in San Diego County (Cuyamaca/Laguna area), listed by SDHGPA as P4+++/H4 "alt Horse launch" (an alternative launch for Horse Canyon). It is advanced-only and access-restricted: SDHGPA + USHPA membership required and you must fly with an active local member who gives a site briefing. paraglidingEarth orientation hint is SE, consistent with the regional Laguna sites that work best on light SE-to-E winds (roughly 8-10 kt / ~9-12 mph). Ideal arc centered on SE (~120-160 deg); marginal toward E and S edges. HAZARDS: this is a massive desert escarpment with the nearest LZ a ~45-minute drive down on the desert floor, so a blown launch or being unable to climb out is serious. Conditions change fast: the site commonly blows down in the afternoon, and during Santa Ana conditions it can transition to violent E winds (gusts reported up to ~70 mph) with little warning - do NOT fly with any easterly Santa Ana forecast. Best window is morning/midday in stable light SE flow before afternoon strengthening. No published explicit speed limits for Fuzz itself; speed values here are conservative inferences from regional Laguna guidance and the advanced rating - verify with the SDHGPA site manager before flying. Treat as effectively closed to non-locals.
