Small south-facing soaring ridge on the mountain across from Elizabeth Lake (Leona Valley / Antelope Valley, ~1 hr from downtown LA via Hwy 14 or Lake Hughes Rd). PG/HG ridge-soaring + light thermal/XC. Works ONLY on the south-facing ridge: best in a straight south wind, sometimes SW; SE and SW are cross/marginal edges (paraglidingEarth rates all three octants only 2/5, i.e. a modest "fun little hill," not a premier site). Launch description says it is best in south wind, occasionally SW. No published club speed limits exist; ranges shown are inferred for a small ridge of this size/elevation — treat conservatively. Hazards: a backing/veering wind off the south ridge puts launch into lee/rotor; midday Antelope Valley thermal cycles and afternoon SW gradient can overdevelop and overpower a small hill, so late morning to early afternoon in a steady S flow is the cleaner window. No formal access/rating data found; verify current access and ratings with local SoCal pilots (SHGA / SCPA) before flying. Coordinates 34.6731, -118.406, ~3855 ft MSL launch; LZ at hill base, parking lot, or beach.
