High-altitude thermal site (~8,100 ft) on the west/southwest flank of Methodist Mountain, about 5 miles south of Salida in the upper Arkansas Valley. Launch faces roughly S-SW; keep base wind light since strong midday thermals plus wind get rough here, with dust devils and abrupt cycles at density altitude. Smoothest air is morning or late afternoon. No published site guide - confirm the exact launch, access, and rating requirements with local pilots or RMHPA before flying.
