Site is Mount Harrison in the Albion Range, southern Idaho (Cassia County, near Albion/Burley/Oakley); paraglidingEarth lists it as "Harrison" with a W (2) and NW (2) wind orientation and a "Large" takeoff. Launch sits high (~8855 ft MSL; summit ~9265 ft) with a paved road to the top, so access/rating is easy by road but it is a real high-altitude mountain launch. Documented flying history here (photo of pilot Frank Gillette soaring Mt. Harrison, 1988; the Albion Mountains base is a known thermal area). No club/USHPA site guide with explicit numbers was found, so the direction arc is taken from the W/NW orientation hint and speeds are inferred for a thermic high-elevation launch. Ideal: W through NW (roughly 260-320 deg). Marginal/cross: SW edge (~225 deg) and N edge (~350 deg) become cross/turbulent. Hazards to assume at a peak this high: strong midday thermals and likely thermic/mechanical turbulence and rotor on lee/cross days, high density altitude (lighter air, faster effective launch/landing speeds and reduced wing performance), and rapid afternoon overdevelopment. Best window is typically mid-morning to early afternoon for thermals, or smoother evening glass-off; avoid strong-wind or backed (E/S) days. Verify current conditions and local knowledge before flying — data is sparse.
