Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Dansville is a Rochester Area Flyers site, a shallow flat-slope launch for ridge and thermal soaring. Best in SW wind (roughly SSW through SE works), ideal 8-12 mph for paragliders, minimum ~5 to clear the trees, max ~16 before a rock face below the slot kicks up rotor. Watch the tree line at the bottom of the slot, power lines, and that below-launch rock face; the primary LZ is a half-mile out and needs a 3.4:1 glide. H3/P3 minimum (novices supervised), current USHPA + RAF membership and a site briefing required, no mini-wings; access is across a landowner's driveway.
