Rochester Area Flyers (RAF/USHPA chapter) site guide gives explicit numbers. Shallow flat-slope launch with ridge and thermal soaring. Flyable in roughly SSW through SE wind; SW (~225 deg) is ideal. Ideal speed 8-12 mph for paragliders (~10 mph for hang gliders); min ~5 mph recommended for tree clearance; max usable ~16 mph because a vertical rock face below the launch slot generates turbulence/rotor above that. Keep gusts low (guide cites ~5 mph max gust). Hazards: vertical rock face below launch (turbulence/rotor), tree line at bottom of launch slot that must be cleared before turning, power lines, rotor zones. Strong flat-slope launch technique required. Primary LZ is 0.5 mi from launch at 772 ft MSL needing a minimum 3.4:1 glide ratio. Access via landowner driveway; set up gliders to the right of launch and tie down. Rating/access: current USHPA + RAF membership, Intermediate (H3/P3) minimum; Novice pilots need direct supervision by H3/P3+ familiar with the site; mandatory site briefing for all pilots new to the site; no mini-wings. Note one source readout listed an inconsistent 300-360 deg numeric range that conflicts with the SSW-SE verbal description and the SW/W orientation hint, so the verbal/compass directions were used.
