Advanced H4 only; experienced H3 w/ guidance. ~9000ft, road-cut launch faces E into valley; sheltered so often thermal-blocks on launch w/ rotor in lee of Wonoga heading out - jump to S side of canyon for cleaner upslope. Valley >20mph any dir = hazardous; ~10-12mph N is OK here. Light winds critical; S valley wind switches midmorning. Spring/Fall best.
