Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Remote high-desert XC launch at ~5,680 ft in Shasta Valley, known for strong summer thermals and an excellent evening glass-off. Works on a WSW/SW straight-in wind (roughly 220-270); PG usable to ~14 mph, HG to ~20. Advanced site — thermal and high-altitude signoff required, with long XC retrieves and limited LZs. Launch and LZ are private land: site intro, waiver, and current RVHPA + USHPA membership required.
