A SW-facing launch within the Keel Mountain flying area near Gurley, on a low (~1375 ft) inland ridge. It works on a southwest wind, roughly 200-250, best light around 7-14 mph. This is private, permission-only land tied to the Keel Mountain owner — coordinate with the local North Alabama pilots first. It is a thermic, tree-lined site: fly the smoother morning or late-afternoon window and plan your LZ carefully. North winds put you in the lee.
