Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Windward-Oahu trade-wind ridge-soaring site in Kahana State Park, run by the Hawaii Paragliding Association (USHPA chapter). Works on the E-NE trades: a straight easterly lights up the whole ridge, while on NE days only the front works and you launch the north launch instead of the east one. Watch the venturi around the north end when you're low — pilots have been pulled around the corner and forced to land in the pasture LZs, so stay high. Free HPA/USHPA membership required; P2+ recommended.
