Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Low-traffic high-desert XC launch on a rim in NW Colorado near Maybell/Dinosaur, part of the Dinosaur Open comp area. Broadly SE-facing; works best in a light-to-moderate ESE-through-S wind. Expect strong midday thermals, dust devils, and lee rotor if the wind gets behind the rim to the W/NW. High elevation (~7,200 ft), remote, with long retrieves and poor cell coverage - verify current access and landowner permission first. P3+ with solid strong-thermal experience.
