Small ridge in the bend of the Paint Creek Valley near Chillicothe, OH; the only foot-launch site maintained by the Ohio Flyers Hang Gliding Association. Works on SW winds (ridge faces ~SW); the Ohio Flyers site guide states it needs SW wind at roughly 15 mph to soar, so ideal is a fairly tight ~SSW-to-WSW (215-240 deg) arc centered on SW (225). MARGINAL/HAZARD: winds more from the SOUTH channel up the valley and cross on launch, making launch sketchy as you trend below ~210 deg; winds trending past WSW toward W also become more cross. Ideal soaring band ~12-15 mph (10-18 usable); above ~18-20 mph it gets strong for a small ridge. ACCESS IS RESTRICTED: private property with a locked gate — you must contact an Ohio Flyers member or the landowner for permission, and visiting pilots must be accompanied by a club member. Best in steady SW gradient flow rather than gusty/thermic conditions given the small ridge and valley-cross risk. Speed numbers explicit from the club wiki; direction-arc width and gust ceiling inferred from the orientation and the noted south-valley-cross hazard.
