Best/ideal directions: N, NNW, NE, ENE (the cliff line works the N/NE-facing arc, matching the N,NE orientation hint). Classic good day is a NE wind ~15-18 mph with a bit of thermal mixing. SW winds are explicitly BAD (offshore/leeside) - avoid. Winds described as smooth rather than gusty; coastal/cliff speeds run 15-18 mph while inland is only 8-10 mph.
