Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.

Barry's Launch on Peters Mountain (Monroe County, WV / VA border), a NW-facing ridge. It works on NW flow (W and N are the workable edges) and is a light-wind thermal/XC site rather than a strong-wind ridge run - long XC flights have started here. A venturi at launch makes on-launch wind much stronger than the valley forecast, so locals generally don't launch above roughly 7 mph forecast. Landing options exist on both sides of the ridge. It's private property, so contact landowner Barry Rich for permission first.
