SE-facing launch on Massanutten Ridge near Luray, on national forest land, managed by CHGPA. Flies on an ESE-to-SSE wind; a W/NW/N wind is on the back side — rotor, not flyable. Ridge-and-thermal site that can turn on mid-morning and build through the afternoon; pilots soar the spine or push XC over the back toward West Virginia. Intermediate site — CHGPA expects a P2 with mountain/RLF signoff plus a site briefing.
