Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
SW-facing ridge inside Shenandoah National Park near Front Royal, managed by CHGPA. Flies on a S-SW to W wind; outside that it goes cross and unworkable. A technical launch and LZ — experienced pilots only. Requires P3 (with cliff-launch signoff) or H3, USHPA + CHGPA membership, and an NPS special-use permit arranged a few days ahead. Daylight only, helmets required, and landing crosses onto private property so get permission.
