Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Grassy WSW-facing launch (hidden rocks) in the Mustang Mountains east of Sonoita, known for evening glass-offs and midday XC. Flies in W to SW wind (ideal ~230-270); avoid a N/NW component, which throws rotor off the rock outcrop just north of launch and off the nearby 'Biscuit' pinnacle. Keep it under ~12 mph — winds aloft here run 3-5 mph above forecast and single-digit LZ wind often means double-digit on launch, so blow-back is a real risk. About a 45-min, 960 ft hike up from the LZ. H2/P2 minimum; access is via Upper Elgin Rd through a ranch gate (windmill on the right).
