Ceiling · Paragliding
≤ 19 mph base · gusts ≤ 23
Top of the range for paragliding (any rating). Switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Lookout Mountain Flight Park's 100 ft student hill, where turns get introduced. Launchable in W to NNW. A tree channel to the left of the hill can funnel unexpected gusts across the field. Same training-hill limit as the Small Hill: 6-7 mph (streamers flying straight back) is the top of what students launch into. Lessons run from 7:30 AM and usually wrap by 11 AM on sunny days before thermals; evenings before sunset also work. Not a soaring site. Pin is the park's 'LMFP Training Hills' map pin (shared with the Small Hill).
