SSE-facing grassy slope launch (~157 deg) on the ridge above Heavener Runestone Park, managed by Buffalo Mountain Flyers (USHPA chapter). The club guide gives explicit, conservative wind rules for the Heavener launches: fly only in SMOOTH winds of 8 mph or less, and gusty winds only to 5 mph (i.e. very low gust tolerance). Pilots are advised to keep heading within 90 deg of directly into wind, and within 45 deg of directly into wind below 60 ft AGL — so the ideal working arc centers on SSE (about 135-180 deg / SE-to-S) with marginal cross at the SE and S edges. Thermal flying plus ridge soaring; the south-facing ridge extends ~5 miles east of launch. HAZARDS: site is private (non-tribal) land requiring permission — IMPORTANT: as of the current club site guide the SSE launch is marked CLOSED per request of the landowner, so it may not be flyable without re-negotiated access. Coordinates per club: 34.8838, -94.5597. Access is via Runestone Park (obey park speed limits); steep ascent over a rock formation, and a clay patch that may need 4WD when wet. LZ is a cattle pasture with cows, tall grass, scattered trees, and a barb-wire fence on the west boundary. Smooth-air, light-wind site; best in stable mornings/evenings or light thermic cycles. Coordinator: Britton Shaw. Speed/gust numbers are explicit from the club guide (high confidence); the exact direction arc is inferred from the SSE orientation plus the club's heading-into-wind rule (medium confidence), and access is uncertain due to the landowner closure.
