Desert Air Riders (Central Oregon club) site guide gives explicit numbers: ideal NW arc 303.75-326.25 deg, wind 5-15 mph, max gust factor 5 mph, P-2 site rating. Launch is ~13 mi NE of Terrebonne, OR at ~4,200 ft; directly above and south of the parking area via a gate and trail. Best conditions are glass-off evening flights (winds 10-15 mph N/NW in the last hours before sunset); morning sledders possible 9-10am as wind clocks to W. Marginal arc toward N (orientation hint also lists N) but cross/edge only. HAZARDS: significant wind gradient and rapidly changing conditions - risk of being blown back over the ridge (if you cannot penetrate, plan B is to crab east where the ridge drops away). Strong venturi at the western Skull Hollow canyon - flying too low/west risks being sucked into the canyon. Alternative LZ at 44.4300, -121.0453 is an ACTIVE gun/target-shooting range; also heavy mountain biker/hiker/shooter traffic in the area. Access via rough forest roads with eroded cattle guards.
