Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
East-facing ridge soaring site (200' ridge) near Mack, CO. RMHPA (USHPA chapter) site guide gives explicit values: ideal launch direction E 40-120 deg, acceptable 20-140 deg. Paragliding wind: ideal ~10 mph, usable 0-15 mph, gust factor 5 mph (max gust ~20). Works best E wind, most sunny mornings; best time dawn to late morning. Significant rotor ~20 ft behind the ridge - avoid flying there. P2/H2/M2 rating. All BLM land: free camping, drive/park right at launch (one of the most accessible CO sites). Key hazard noted: vehicle/paraglider separation in parking area. Top landing preferred; glide ratio ~3.5 to lower LZ marked by white-rock triangle. Local group: High Desert Paragliding (informal, no fees). Elevation ~5039-5056 ft MSL.
