Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Paragliding-only mountain launch (~7,600 ft) above Honey Lake and Janesville in the NE Sierra, listed by BHGC. Works on N-through-E winds, best in the light morning or evening glass-off; midday summer air gets strong. Big ~3,400 ft glide to the Janesville Park LZ, and watch for a westerly gradient spilling over the crest that brings lee rotor. The road to launch is behind a locked gate: call the firewatch (530-616-0529) for access. Wind numbers unconfirmed.
