Remote hike-and-fly thermal launch on BLM land in the Griswold Hills at the south end of Panoche Valley near Coalinga (~2,500 ft). Works best on a N/NE/NW component. Strong, punchy midday thermals with overdevelopment and lee rotor risk on hot days — best flown morning or evening. Access is off Panoche Road toward New Idria; no facilities, intermediate+ terrain.
