Cervidae (Cervidae Peak) is an active thermal/XC paragliding launch near Boise, Idaho, sitting on a ridge above Robie Creek / Lucky Peak Reservoir (~17 mi from Boise), elev ~4137 ft MSL. It ranks as one of Idaho's top XC launches (frequent flights logged on Wilder Adventures' launch directory through 2025-2026), so it is a real, regularly flown site. No club/USHPA guide with explicit numbers was located, so direction and speed values are inferred from the SW/W/NW orientation hint plus standard high-desert thermal-peak behavior. Launch faces broadly SW through W to NW; ideal cycles come straight in from the W/SW. As a high-desert mountain site it is primarily thermal-driven: best flown on light-to-moderate wind with a smooth afternoon thermal cycle (late morning into afternoon). Hazards: strong west wind makes the launch overpowered and produces lee-side rotor/turbulence on backside and downwind spurs; midday summer thermals can be punchy and overdeveloped; exposed ridge gets hot and can build to too-strong conditions by mid-afternoon. Hike-in access (popular Cervidae Peak hiking trail). Treat speed/gust figures as conservative inferences, not published limits; verify locally (Idaho Paragliding club / current pilots) before flying.
