Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Thermal/XC launch in the foothills north of Boise (~5,900 ft), on the Idaho Paragliding club circuit. Drive up 8th Street, bear right where the road Ts, then a short hike to launch; land on the ridge just past the last power lines (no wind sock). It's a cross-country site — get high and cross the valley rather than loiter, or you'll hike out. Expect strong midday thermals and lee rotor if the wind swings to the E/SE. Check with local Idaho pilots before flying.
