Ceiling · Paragliding
≤ 19 mph base · gusts ≤ 23
Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
Lesser-known west-facing mountain launch (~6,700 ft) in the Bridger Range north of Bozeman, not on the Bozeman Airforce published site list. Works in west winds, roughly SW through NW. Expect strong midday thermals, canyon venturi, and lee-side rotor if the wind goes east or north - smoothest mid-morning or evening. Confirm direction, LZ, access and rating with Bozeman Airforce before flying.
