Top of the range for paragliding (any rating) — switch wings up top to compare. Hang gliders hold roughly 10 mph more than paragliders.
A ~300 ft E-W ridge in Paradise Valley near Livingston, soared from the north side; a Bozeman Airforce site charted by the FAA as a high-use glider area. Works in light north winds (roughly 320-40 deg), 0-10 mph with gusts to 12 - not a beginner site (P3+, site intro, and comfort sharing air with hang gliders required). As of June 2024 the traditional LZ is closed, the windsock removed and the gate locked, so the site is effectively XC-only. Hazards include strong shifting winds, ridge rotor, overhead wires, and livestock and rattlesnakes on private land.
