Day Dreams is a paragliding-only ridgetop launch above Crystal Bay / Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe (7274 ft MSL), reached by a ~25-30 min hike (access road is locked/gated). Works in SW and W (octants per paraglidingEarth), giving an ideal wind-FROM arc of roughly 210-285 deg (SW through W); marginal shoulders extend to ~S (190) and ~WNW (300). Ideal wind 10-15 mph; treat ~15 mph as the practical max base because the small, rocky setup area plus punchy thermals rolling through launch make stronger/gustier conditions hazardous - be ready to be lifted and to reverse-launch. Best in mid-day to afternoon thermal/cycle conditions typical of high-Sierra sites; avoid strong gusts. Long glide to the Secline Beach LZ (behind the Transam gas station, NW of Kings Beach, ~6247 ft); the original Kings Beach LZ is CLOSED by North Tahoe PUD - land at Secline, drop the wing immediately and walk to the sidewalk to avoid ranger/property issues; main beach near the waterline is a backup only. No explicit USHPA rating stated, but the tricky rocky launch and punchy air make this an intermediate-plus / experienced site. Sources cross-confirm SW/W and 10-15 mph.
